Gamers are eagerly waiting for a new Star Wars game. Luckily, that wait might end soon. Summer Game Fest kicks off this week. Therefore, fans should keep a close eye on the showcase. The highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi 3 could finally make an appearance.
Star Wars Jedi 3: A New Chapter for Cal Kestis
Electronic Arts (EA) previously confirmed that another Star Wars story featuring Cal Kestis is in the works. However, the exact reveal date remains the biggest question. The series brought us Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Both titles stand out as the best modern stories in the franchise. Furthermore, players widely celebrate these games for their action-packed combat and the introduction of Cal Kestis into the official canon. Now, the official Insider Gaming Weekly podcast suggests a sneak peek is coming sooner than expected.
During the podcast, hosts voiced their hopes for a Star Wars Jedi 3 announcement at the event. Specifically, Insider Gaming Editor-in-Chief Tom Henderson shared some interesting insight regarding the sequel. He revealed that he heard details about the game roughly a year ago. According to Henderson, developers plan to feature an older version of Cal in the next chapter.
Consequently, this points toward a potential time jump in the storyline. A time skip wouldn’t be surprising at all. After all, players previously experienced a time jump between Fallen Order and Survivor. Still, you should take these rumors with a grain of salt. Currently, we have no official confirmation that the game will appear.
Where to Watch Summer Game Fest
Event organizers still keep plenty of reveals under wraps. Meanwhile, they have already confirmed several other games for the showcase. Since the broadcast is only a few days away, the hype continues to build. Gamers will have to play the waiting game just a little longer.
Summer Game Fest streams live on June 5 via YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET. Hopefully, the showcase holds some exciting surprises for Star Wars fans. For more details, viewers can read our previous coverage of the Summer Game Fest 2026 tease.
