Chinese smartphone brands Oppo and Vivo appear ready to enter the growing vlogging camera market. A new leak suggests both companies are developing compact cameras to compete with DJI’s popular Osmo Pocket series.
The latest details come from the source on Weibo. According to the leak, both Oppo and Vivo are working on devices that feature a massive 200MP camera. The sensor size is reportedly 1/1.12-inch, which strongly points to Sony’s Lytia 901 sensor that debuted last November.
The report also claims both brands may continue their long-running camera partnerships. Oppo could launch its vlogging camera with Hasselblad branding, while Vivo may work alongside Zeiss. These partnerships already play a major role in their flagship smartphones, especially in mobile photography.
Besides the high-resolution camera hardware, both devices are expected to include flagship-level chips. However, the leak did not reveal the exact processors. Even so, the focus clearly seems to be on delivering premium imaging performance for creators and vloggers.
Another key feature could be deep smartphone integration. The upcoming cameras may connect seamlessly with Oppo and Vivo phones. As a result, users could instantly save videos and photos directly to their smartphones. This would also make editing and sharing content much faster and easier.
The move makes sense as the compact vlogging camera market continues to grow. DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 has become extremely popular over the last few years. Its small size, stabilized video, and creator-focused tools helped it dominate the category for a long time.
Now, however, the competition is starting to increase. DJI itself is reportedly preparing more products, including the Osmo Pocket 4 and the upcoming Osmo Pocket 4P. At the same time, Insta360 is also preparing to launch its new Luna camera.
For years, DJI had very little competition in this space. That situation is now changing quickly as major smartphone brands push deeper into content creation hardware. If these rumors turn out to be accurate, Oppo and vivo could soon challenge DJI in a market that is becoming more crowded every year.
