Lahore traffic police have detained a biker carrying unpaid e-challans worth more than Rs2.08 million. The case has raised concerns about repeat traffic violations in the city. The suspect, identified as Baz Muhammad, was stopped during a routine traffic check in Lahore. During verification of his vehicle details, officials uncovered a surprising record linked to his name.
According to police records, 421 vehicles are registered under Baz Muhammad. These include motorcycles and rickshaws. This large number of registrations triggered further investigation by authorities.
Officials also found that these vehicles carried unpaid e-challan fines totaling Rs2,088,800. As a result, the suspect became one of the most heavily fined traffic defaulters identified in the city.
After verification, the traffic police seized the motorcycle being used by Baz Muhammad. They shifted the vehicle to the Muslim Town Police Station for further legal action. Meanwhile, authorities began administrative proceedings against him.
CTO Lahore confirmed that all vehicles registered under his name have been blacklisted. This step restricts any transfer or registration services linked to those vehicles until the dues are cleared.
Furthermore, officials said this action is part of a wider crackdown on traffic violations. CTO Rahim Shirazi stated that more than 1 lakh vehicles have already been blacklisted in Lahore. He added that the traffic police are increasing digital monitoring to catch repeat offenders. The system now helps identify individuals who ignore multiple e-challans over time.
Officials believe this case sends a strong message to other violators. They warned that unpaid fines can no longer be ignored under the updated enforcement system.
