The Punjab government has expanded its digital public service network by integrating the Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) with the Dastak App, enabling citizens to access key driving license services from the comfort of their homes.
According to the Punjab Traffic Police, the initiative is designed to reduce congestion at licensing centers and eliminate the need for repeated visits by shifting several essential services to a digital platform with doorstep facilitation.
Under the new system, citizens can apply for a learner’s driving license directly through the Dastak App. The platform also allows users to renew expired driving licenses, making the process more convenient and efficient.
In addition, individuals can request duplicate licenses in case of loss or damage and apply for international driving permits required for overseas travel, all through a single application.
Officials stated that the fee for a learner’s driving license has been fixed at Rs. 500 per category. Charges for license renewals and duplicate licenses will continue to be applied according to existing government regulations and vehicle classifications, including motorcycle, car, jeep, LTV, and HTV categories.
Authorities have encouraged citizens to download the Dastak App from the Google Play Store and rely on official Punjab Traffic Police channels for guidance, verification, and updates regarding the services.
The initiative forms part of Punjab’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at improving public service delivery, enhancing convenience for citizens, and promoting e-governance across the province.
