Tomorrow, June 25, the wait finally ends. Grand Theft Auto 6 officially opens for pre-orders. Rockstar Games is heavily preparing for this massive event. As we previously covered during the GTA 6 pre-order date announcement on June 18, the initial reveal already shattered engagement records across social media. Now, the gaming industry is holding its breath. The next 24 hours could drastically shift the entire video game landscape.
Rockstar Games next post will be GTA 6.
Today’s Red Dead Online update was uploaded to BiliBili, but wasn’t posted across Rockstar’s main social media accounts.

The Calm Before the GTA 6 Trailer 3 Storm
Rockstar is currently clearing the runway. The developer has kept its main social media channels, particularly Twitter, completely dormant since the cover art reveal last week. Consequently, fans have noticed this deliberate silence.
Furthermore, Rockstar even diverted its routine updates. The studio posted this week’s Red Dead Online bounty hunt rewards on its BiliBili account instead of its primary channels. Therefore, this total silence on major platforms signals a calculated move. Rockstar is clearly making room for what will likely be a colossal announcement tomorrow. Many expect this upcoming post to feature a brand-new trailer alongside the pre-order launch. Once the floodgates open, an aggressive marketing campaign featuring billboards, commercials, and trailers will immediately take over the internet.
The Price Uncertainty
Meanwhile, industry experts are watching tomorrow’s launch for a completely different reason. Thursday will finally answer massive questions surrounding the retail price of GTA 6.
Currently, a severe “price panic” surrounds GTA 6. The game boasts an unprecedented budget, size, and hype level. Because of this, analysts suspect Rockstar might push the base price of AAA games to $80 or even $100. If Rockstar successfully normalizes this higher price point, the rest of the industry will inevitably follow. Therefore, tomorrow’s pre-order launch could instantly establish a new pricing standard for all future video games.
But there is definitely hope that GTA 6 will bear a $70 price tag. Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, previously debunked these rumours of a higher price tag. According to him, the price of the game is going to be “very reasonable“.
Escaping the November Blast Radius
Beyond pricing, the sheer gravity of GTA 6 is actively altering competitors’ release schedules. Currently, the game holds a November release window. The threat of competing against this juggernaut is immense. As a result, other developers are frantically moving their fall releases into September. They want to escape the GTA 6 blast radius, which is now severely crowding the September calendar.
However, a few skeptics still anticipate a last-minute delay announcement tomorrow. If June 25 passes without a delay, Rockstar locks in that November release. If that happens, the industry must brace for the biggest launch event in entertainment history.
