Apple has increased the prices of Apple Music and some Apple One subscription plans in the United States. The changes affect individual, family, and student Apple Music subscriptions, along with the Family and Premier Apple One bundles.
The monthly price of an individual Apple Music subscription has increased by $1. It now costs $11.99 instead of $10.99 in the United States.
The Apple Music Family plan has received a bigger increase. Its monthly price has gone up by $3, moving from $16.99 to $19.99. Meanwhile, the student plan now costs $6.99 per month after a $1 increase.
Apple has also updated pricing for selected Apple One bundles. The individual Apple One plan remains unchanged. However, the Family plan now costs $27.95 per month after a $2 increase. The Premier plan has also gone up by $2 and now costs $39.95 per month.
Besides the United States, Apple has also raised subscription prices in Brazil. The company has not announced any other regional pricing changes at this time. Apple explained the latest increase in a statement shared with Music Business Worldwide. According to the company, the higher prices are the result of rising licensing costs.
This is not the first time Apple has adjusted Apple Music pricing. The company last increased subscription prices in October 2022. The latest changes continue that trend as Apple responds to higher operating and licensing expenses.
The new pricing takes effect immediately for new subscribers. Existing subscribers may receive advance notice before the updated charges appear on their next billing cycle, depending on their subscription terms.
