OnePlus has confirmed a major battery upgrade for the OnePlus 16 ahead of its October 12 launch in China. The upcoming flagship will feature a 9,000mAh battery, marking a significant increase over its predecessor.
Company executive Li Jie Louis confirmed the battery capacity in a post on Weibo. The OnePlus 16 will have a 1,700mAh larger battery than the OnePlus 15, which features a 7,300mAh cell.
The larger battery is expected to deliver longer battery life. Moreover, the phone will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which could further improve power efficiency. The device will also support 50W wireless charging.
OnePlus has already confirmed several other specifications. The OnePlus 16 will feature a 200MP main rear camera and come in three color options. It will also have a 185Hz display, with a system-wide refresh rate of 165Hz.
With its larger battery, faster display, and upgraded camera, the OnePlus 16 brings several hardware changes over its predecessor. The phone will make its debut in China on October 12.
