The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) came under heavy selling pressure on Monday as renewed political uncertainty weakened investor sentiment. The benchmark KSE-100 Index fell 2,288 points, or 1.36%, to close at 165,867 after touching an intraday low of 2,391 points.
The decline came as the opposition’s long march began following failed government-opposition talks, raising concerns over further political disruption. Investors also remained cautious amid uncertainty over international oil prices and the broader economic outlook. UBL, ENGROH, HBL, HUBC, and PPL were among the major decliners, collectively dragging the index down by 705 points.
Trading remained subdued, with around 441 million shares changing hands at a total traded value of approximately Rs. 15.7 billion. FNEL led market volumes with more than 50 million shares traded. The market details were shared by Topline Securities.
