The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has urged parents to closely monitor their children’s use of mobile phones, tablets and laptops to protect them from online risks. The authority recommended limiting daily screen time and maintaining a healthy balance between education, entertainment, rest and family activities.
PTA advised parents to supervise children while they use digital devices and keep them in shared areas of the home. It also encouraged parents to use parental controls, content filters and age-appropriate safety settings to restrict harmful or inappropriate online content.
The authority further urged parents to improve their digital awareness so they can guide children on the safe use of social media and other online platforms. PTA’s latest guidance comes amid ongoing concerns over children’s access to social media and online safety in Pakistan.
