Pakistan’s premium motorcycle market is about to experience a massive shift. Buraq Automobile plans to establish a local assembly plant for high-displacement Italian and Chinese bikes. Currently, the company operates as the official Pakistani importer and distributor for Benelli, Moto Morini, and QJMOTOR. Historically, these premium bikes arrived strictly as Completely Built Units. Now, the company will transition to Completely Knocked Down assembly operations.
CEO Mobeen Ahmed recently confirmed the new infrastructure plans in an interview. Construction on the assembly plant will finish in December 2026. Consequently, the first locally assembled motorcycles will officially roll out in January 2027. This move represents a massive technological and market leap for the domestic motorcycle industry.
Introducing EFI Technology to Pakistan
Buraq Automobile will become the first manufacturer to locally assemble Electronic Fuel Injection motorcycles in Pakistan. This vital upgrade will shift the local industry away from outdated carburetors. EFI engines successfully resolve common carburetor issues like engine missing. An engine missing or sputtering problem in a motorcycle usually happens when the air-fuel mixture is unbalanced, or when fuel delivery is disrupted inside the carburetor. Furthermore, they deliver superior horsepower, faster acceleration, and excellent fuel economy.
Currently, Pakistan lacks mass-scale EFI mechanics. However, Ahmed confidently predicts that buyers will rapidly embrace the technology. He compares this upcoming transition to the auto sector’s successful shift to EFI cars twenty years ago.
Confirmed Models & Rollout Phases
The Italian manufacturer Moto Morini will exclusively lead the first phase of local assembly. Operations will begin with the premium Alltrhike 450 adventure bike. Shortly after, the company will introduce a 300cc Moto Morini adventure model.
| Brand | Rollout Order | Motorcycle Model |
| Moto Morini | First Phase | Alltrhike 450 |
| Moto Morini | Second Phase | 300cc Model |
Moreover, Buraq plans to assemble a second major international motorcycle brand. The company will officially announce this confidential name soon.
Massive Price Reductions for Buyers
Transitioning from imported units to local assembly attracts significantly lower import duties. Buraq Automobile will pass these financial savings directly to buyers. Consequently, the company will cut retail prices by approximately 23%.
| Motorcycle Version | Tentative Price | Price Difference |
| Imported CBU Alltrhike 450 | Rs. 2,600,000 | Base Price |
| Locally Assembled CKD Alltrhike 450 | Rs. 1,995,000 | 23% Reduction |
Prices could drop even further in the near future. The government’s draft Auto Policy 2026-31 proposes lower duties on ICE motorcycle kits. If the government approves a proposed 10% duty reduction, Buraq will pass the additional tax relief directly to consumers.
Ultimately, this new assembly plant sets a major benchmark. Pakistan’s local motorcycle production historically relied on Japanese brands like Honda and Suzuki. Yamaha recently exited the market in 2025. Meanwhile, entry-level Thai manufacturers like Royal GPX just entered the local space in 2026. Moving forward, the local assembly of premium EFI adventure bikes will completely redefine the domestic market.
