Entrepreneurship is blooming in Pakistan and 2013 was a good year for the country. Despite the fact that the country faces serious power crisis and problems in law and order, the youth of Pakistan are hopeful. They are striving to make the ends meet and brighten up the future with the power of innovation. Even without the opportunities, young teams have demonstrated talent, skill and innovation. In 2013, we covered Plan9’s Demo Day introducing the talented teams. These startups are, we hope, well on their way to success. Also not to be missed are the startups that showed potential in 2013.
To start off this year, we have partnered with Invest2Innovate, one of the largest incubators working in Pakistan, to bring name and recognition to their best six teams incubated. The Community Day is today on 10th January and our team is all packed up and ready at Karachi. We will be bringing you live updates and the best of the news!
Invest2Innovate is an incubator based in Karachi. The team has put in a lot of effort to bring the best six teams. From the hard selection process to the four month mentorship and training program that began around the end of August, the i2i team headed by the ever charming Kalsoom Lakhani has done its best in bringing out the talent, polishing skills and connecting the young entrepreneurs to the right people, a deed which will have immense weightage in their careers to come. These startup companies could become to next Amazon tomorrow and we are hoping they will.
i2i is showing off their gems today: The Pitch hosted by Dot Zero in Karachi is taking place today at 7 p.m. and we are looking forward to seeing these teams of bright young people show off their exceptional skills and present their great ideas. The i2i Community Day will be a good event, giving people a chance to interact and find out more about the startups, connect the startups to potential clients and give the community a chance to appreciate the hard work and effort being put in by these guys. Moreover, it is a definitely a great way to start off 2014! Among the teams that will be pitching today are Idea Centricity, Amal Academy, Three Restart, Rais’n d’Bar, Asli Goli and The Reading Room Project. The AppJuice is the official media partner for the event so don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter if you don’t want to miss out any event related updates. Exclusive event coverage, interviews with the teams and so much more is coming up!
With that we are going to call it a night because tomorrow is a big day. See you tomorrow!
