Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone has appeared in new dummy unit images, offering a clearer look at its final design. The latest visuals indicate that the device may arrive only in a white color option.
Dummy units are non-functional models used by accessory makers. These models help them prepare cases with accurate dimensions before launch. Earlier versions of the foldable iPhone dummy showed a basic book-style design. However, the latest version looks much more refined and closer to a final product.
The design follows a passport-style foldable form with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It appears wider than it is tall, unlike most foldable phones on the market. The outer display is expected to measure 5.5 inches. Meanwhile, the inner OLED panel may reach 7.8 inches. When unfolded, the screen size is close to a compact tablet experience, similar to an iPad mini.
First look at the iPhone Fold dummy unit. It doesn't look like Apple will offer multiple colors, with white currently appearing to be the only option. What do you think? pic.twitter.com/olMzm6t6Ts

The device is also expected to feature an ultra-thin 4.5mm titanium frame. In addition, the volume buttons may be placed on the top edge instead of the side. The Action Button is not expected to be included in this model. Instead, Touch ID may replace Face ID for authentication. On the back, a horizontal dual-camera setup is likely placed inside a raised camera bar.
New design details show an edge-to-edge cover display with slightly curved edges. The camera flash is positioned below the rear microphone within the camera area. The rear microphone now includes seven drilled holes for improved design balance. On the inner display, the front camera sits in the top-left corner. This placement may also change how the Dynamic Island works on the device.
Color options appear to be limited. The latest design direction points toward a single white finish. Earlier patterns in Apple’s product strategy support this approach. Some high-end devices have launched in only one color. Over time, additional finishes were introduced in later versions. Past iPhone models also followed a similar path, starting with limited colors before expanding the lineup.
The foldable iPhone is expected to launch in September 2026. It will likely arrive alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Pricing is expected to start above $2,000, placing it in the premium flagship category.
