The Board of Directors of Trans Peshawar has approved the launch of new feeder bus routes on Ring Road, Dilzak Road, and Khyber Road to improve connectivity and facilitate commuters across the city.
The decision was taken during the 46th meeting of the Trans Peshawar Board held at the Planning and Development Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Islam Zeb and attended by all board members.
Alongside the new feeder routes, the board also approved the deployment of additional buses on the main Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor to reduce passenger waiting times amid rising commuter demand.
The board reviewed progress on decisions taken during the previous meeting and expressed satisfaction with the implementation status.
To further strengthen the transport network, the meeting approved the induction of 52 new electric buses and 50 hybrid buses into the BRT fleet. The move is aimed at improving environmentally friendly transport operations and reducing carbon emissions in Peshawar.
Officials noted that Trans Peshawar recently received ISO 9001:2015 certification in recognition of its quality management system.
Despite rising fuel prices, authorities confirmed that no increase in BRT fares has been made to provide relief to passengers.
The board directed Trans Peshawar management to expedite the procurement process for the new buses and operationalization of the approved routes while ensuring strict compliance with safety and quality standards.
