Build Your Dreams (BYD) plans to launch three new plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in Pakistan. The automaker recently imported demo units for evaluation. Currently, these vehicles serve as demonstration units. However, the company aims to launch them as locally assembled models soon. The upcoming lineup includes the premium Denza B5, the Denza B8, and the mainstream BYD Sealion 6.
BYD Introducing the Denza Brand
Denza operates as BYD’s premium sub-brand. Initially, the brand started as a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz. Today, BYD fully owns the brand following Mercedes-Benz’s exit. Denza specifically targets the high-end new-energy vehicle market. Consequently, it offers larger, heavily technology-focused vehicles compared to standard BYD models.
In Pakistan, Denza will compete directly against premium SUVs like the Palisade and Tank 500. Meanwhile, the BYD Sealion 6 will target the mainstream crossover segment.

Local Assembly & Market Impact
BYD does not operate an active local assembly plant in Pakistan right now. Nevertheless, industry insiders expect the manufacturing setup to go live between July and August 2026. Therefore, the company will soon begin producing locally assembled BYD models.
If BYD executes this timeline successfully, it will gain a massive pricing advantage. Furthermore, local assembly drastically improves parts availability and boosts after-sales buyer confidence.
Currently, Pakistani buyers are rapidly shifting toward hybrids because of rising fuel prices and heavy import restrictions. Ultimately, PHEVs eliminate range anxiety. They offer electric-only city driving alongside a reliable petrol backup for longer journeys.
As of May 12, 2026, this remains a developing story. We expect BYD to finalize official prices, local variants, and a concrete launch timeline in the coming days.
