The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that the filing of income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 will officially begin on July 27.
A spokesperson for the board confirmed the date and urged all taxpayers to submit accurate, complete, and honest returns to strengthen the overall efficiency of the tax system.
According to the FBR spokesperson, every detail provided in a tax return must be factual and verifiable.
Taxpayers have been directed to ensure that all information entered in their returns reflects the true state of their finances, a step the board stated is essential for maintaining transparency and accuracy throughout the filing process.
The spokesperson added that timely and accurate submissions play a central role in building a stronger and more reliable tax system.
Taxpayers, the board said, are responsible for filing their returns within the prescribed timeframe and following the correct procedure while taking particular care with the correctness of the details they provide.
