The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will shut down several of its digital tax platforms for more than 52 hours as part of a scheduled system upgrade, the tax authority announced on Friday.
The maintenance window will begin at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and will continue until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, according to a press release issued by the FBR.
Services affected by the shutdown include IRIS, the online tax filing portal, along with Digital Invoicing, the Payment System, the Synchronized Withholding Administration and Payment System, and POS Registration.
No transactions will be possible on any of these platforms while the upgrade is in progress, the FBR said.
The tax authority has advised taxpayers and other stakeholders to complete pending or time-sensitive filings, payments, and registrations before the maintenance period starts to avoid last-minute disruptions.
All affected services are expected to resume immediately once the upgrade is complete, the FBR said, adding that it regretted any inconvenience the outage may cause and thanked taxpayers for their cooperation.
