Google has shared more details about its upgraded Android Switch tool for moving data from an iPhone to an Android phone. The company first announced the improved iOS migration tool for Android 17 during the Android Show I/O Edition 2026. Now, Google has confirmed which devices can use the new feature.
The upgraded Android Switch is already available on the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. The feature is also rolling out to the Pixel 8, Pixel 9, and Pixel 10 series. However, these devices must be running Android 17 to support the upgraded tool.
Google has also confirmed that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series will not get the new iOS migration tool. Meanwhile, support for more Android devices will arrive in the coming months. The upgraded Android Switch can move a wide range of data from an iPhone to an Android device. This includes Google Accounts, passwords, passkeys, app data, Wi-Fi credentials, alarms, and device settings.
Users can also transfer their home screen layout, iMessage history, Voice Memos, eSIMs, and WhatsApp chat history. The tool supports even more data, making the move from an iPhone to Android much easier.
With the expanded support, Google is making the switch to Android more convenient for iPhone users. The company is expected to bring the feature to additional Android devices over the next few months.
