Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime

The Android OS is famous among masses mainly for its customizability. We have already seen different manufacturers coming up with their own versions of Android by introducing their own skins built on the top of the stock Android. The users themselves also have certain degree of prowess to which they can tune their Android experience. Although some users limit themselves by installing custom launchers only, some users go on and root their smartphones.

We have already discussed in detail what Android rooting really is. Following a general introduction, we moved on and told you how could you actually root your Samsung Galaxy J5. Today, we would mainly be talking about rooting your Samsung Galaxy J7.

As we have already explained earlier that there are many ways through which you can root your smartphones. In some of the cases you need a PC and in some cases you don’t. As one-click rooting (rooting that doesn’t need a PC) is temporary and a relatively new phenomenon, we will stick to the more robust rooting solution and would be doing it through PC.

Disclaimer: Rooting your Samsung smartphone will void its manufacturer’s warranty and you may damage your device. In case of any damage in any form, TJ is not to be held responsible in anyways. Proceed at your own risk.

Process:

1. Back-Up

Although the chances are less that you would loose your data or damage the device, it is always recommended that you do a back-up of the data stored on your smartphone.
You can either

  • Copy all the data from you mobile to your SD card and remove it.
  • You can also use your PC to back-up the data.
  • Samsung also has the functionality of using Samsung Kies to back up the data, doing it manually however can give better control over the content to be backed up.

2. Download Samsung Galaxy J7 USB driver for PC

Download the drivers and install it in your computer. This will help you in successfully connecting your smartphone with your PC (which we would be doing in later stages). You can either

  • Without extracting, store them on your PC

Next you will be needed to download SuperSU. SuperSU is a program that will help you with the root access. The software allows you to do almost everything you can with rooting.

Now before you finally go on to the next step, make sure that your device has sufficient battery backup in it. Also, deactivate any anti-virus program in your computer so that it does not disturb the process.
