Lahore Launches Super Smart Traffic cabins for Instant Driving Licenses
Lahore is stepping into the future one traffic kiosk at a time! The city has taken a bold step to improve accessibility and efficiency. Lahore Traffic Police has launched modern, tech-enabled cabins. These are placed right at busy intersections.
The first of these futuristic kiosks is now live at Afshan Chowk on Mall Road. Here, citizens can apply for and receive motorcycle driving licenses on the spot, along with other traffic-related services—no long lines, no complicated processes.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed explained that the project draws inspiration from advanced systems in developed nations. Each kiosk is more than just a booth—it’s a mini command center. Equipped with advanced tech, a loudspeaker system for traffic management, and staffed by wardens 24/7, the cabin ensures round-the-clock support.
To make conditions more humane and sustainable, the kiosks also offer air conditioning, cold drinking water, and rest areas for the wardens stationed there.
The project, initiated under the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab and supervised by SP Headquarters Mansoor-ul-Hassan, is set to expand. Future kiosks will pop up in areas like Gulberg and Iqbal Town. These will bring fast, on-the-spot traffic services closer to more neighborhoods.
This initiative not only simplifies public access to driving licenses. It also supports traffic wardens with better infrastructure—a smart step toward a smoother, more modern Lahore.
