Lahore Traffic Police has launched a citywide crackdown against underage and unlicensed drivers, announcing strict enforcement measures across Lahore.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, vehicles and motorcycles driven by underage motorists will be impounded and shifted to police stations along with issuance of challans.
Officials said motorists driving cars with learner permits or expired licenses will face a fine of Rs. 5,000, while motorcycle riders violating the same rules will be fined Rs. 2,000.
The traffic police also announced strict action against triple riding and warned that commercial vehicles cannot be operated on ordinary car or motorcycle licenses.
Authorities said drivers of buses, wagons, and other public transport vehicles must possess a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license, while truck and trailer drivers are required to hold Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) licenses.
The CTO said all driving license offices in Lahore will remain open despite the holiday, while special checking points have been established outside license centers to identify motorists without valid licenses.
According to officials, Lahore currently has 11 driving testing centers, two mobile licensing vans, and 20 facilitation centers operating across the city.
Traffic police also confirmed that online facilities for learner permits, duplicate licenses, and renewals remain available for public convenience.
