Recently at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), the developers behind Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls dropped a major announcement. They officially revealed ‘Phoenix Cyclops’ as the game’s first Year 1 DLC character. Following the panel, the team published a detailed PlayStation Blog post. This upcoming 4v4 tag-team fighter is a massive collaboration between Arc System Works, PlayStation Studios, and Marvel Games.

This specific version of Scott Summers takes direct inspiration from the 2012 Avengers vs. X-Men comic storyline. It features his powerful Phoenix Five incarnation. Consequently, players will not see his standard X-Men design. Instead, Cyclops directly harnesses a portion of the cosmic Phoenix Force.
He retains his signature Optic Blasts. He also brings exceptional hand-to-hand combat skills to the arena. Now, the Phoenix Force significantly boosts these classic abilities. However, Arc System Works has not yet explained how these cosmic powers will actually function during matches. The studio promised to share detailed fighting-style breakdowns in future updates.
Fans can expect Phoenix Cyclops to join the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls roster in fall 2026. Additionally, the studios confirmed the voice talent behind the iconic X-Men leader. Ray Chase will voice the character. Anime fans will quickly recognize Chase for his recent work as Rakan in the Solo Leveling anime.
