Fortnite x Overwatch: Hero Skins & May Release Window
Prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX recently shared the details on X. The highly anticipated Fortnite x Overwatch crossover will launch in May. Consequently, four iconic Overwatch characters are joining the island. Players can expect skins for Genji, Mercy, Tracer, and D.Va. Epic Games based all four character models strictly on their ‘Overwatch 2’ designs.
Additionally, the update includes more than just hero outfits. A ‘Porsche Macan SUV’ is arriving alongside the skins, complete with four custom decals.
Naturally, the community is already demanding more. Fans want a second wave of cosmetics featuring Reaper, Widowmaker, Sombra, and Ashe. Many players also quickly pointed out the noticeable absence of a Kiriko skin, especially since she was heavily promoted during the Overwatch 2 launch.
Expanding Chapter 7 Season 2
This upcoming event joins an already packed Chapter 7 Season 2 roster. Previously, Epic Games launched a major Game of Thrones collaboration. This update brought Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and The Night King to the game. Furthermore, the developer recently debuted a massive Ben 10 crossover, introducing Ben Tennyson, Gwen Tennyson, and various Omnitrix aliens.
Epic Games is also pushing major gameplay updates this month. On April 16, the developer officially made ‘Fortnite: Save the World‘ free to play. The survival mode even received a crossover event within the battle royale itself. Meanwhile, players successfully completed a major milestone for Act 2. Therefore, the Builder’s Barracks POI recently received significant upgrades on the map. As Chapter 7 Season 2 moves into its second half, Epic Games clearly has plenty of content lined up.
