President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Aisha Humera Chaudhry, a Grade-22 officer from the Secretariat Group, as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) for a three-year term.
Aisha, the sister of Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, has drawn considerable attention across political and bureaucratic circles in the country.
Aisha Humera opted for early retirement from government service ahead of her scheduled retirement date in November, after which the presidential appointment to the FPSC was formally made.
As an FPSC member, Aisha will receive salary and other perks in accordance with the commission’s rules and regulations, in addition to her Grade-22 government pension.
FPSC is the federal body responsible for recruiting civil servants and bureaucrats for federal departments through structured, examination-based recruitment and selection processes.
