The Punjab government has revised its examination policy by allowing temporary teachers to take part in paper checking and invigilation duties. The new policy was announced by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
Under the revised policy, intern teachers working in schools and colleges can now perform examination-related responsibilities. These duties include paper checking and invigilation during examination sessions.
The new program will start from the next examination session. Before receiving assignments, participants will complete the required training. The training will cover university graduates, school teacher interns, and other qualified individuals.
The decision follows the Punjab government’s ban on private teachers performing examination-related duties. As a result, education authorities needed a larger pool of eligible staff for upcoming examinations.
According to the new policy, trained temporary teachers will help education departments manage examinations more effectively. Moreover, the government aims to improve the availability of qualified examination staff across the province.
