The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Punjab Excise Department have opened online registration for October’s auction of premium vehicle registration numbers. Citizens can bid for custom plates for motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles through the e-Auction portal until October 31.
PITB announced the development on Thursday. The platform handles auctions for all three vehicle categories, and the details of successful bidders are published through the application.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the platform uses digital technology to give citizens a secure and transparent way to bid for their preferred numbers. He said digitising the process improves efficiency, speeds up service delivery, and strengthens transparency. He added that the initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to expanding digital public services.
The e-Auction app and web portal allow users to register and participate online, removing the need for physical visits. The initiative forms part of the provincial government’s wider plan to modernise public services through digital transformation.
