Samsung has barely settled into the launch cycle of its latest flagship phones, but attention is already shifting ahead. Early leaks about the next Galaxy S27 series are starting to appear, offering a first look at what the company may be planning for its next upgrade.
A fresh tip suggests that Samsung could introduce a new storage standard with the upcoming lineup. The company is expected to move to UFS 5.0 storage, although this change may not reach every model in the series.
Current rumors point to four devices in development. These include the Samsung Galaxy S27, the Samsung Galaxy S27+, a new Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, and the top-end Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra. However, Samsung may limit UFS 5.0 storage to the Pro and Ultra versions. This would help the brand keep a clear gap between standard and premium models.
The UFS 5.0 standard was introduced in November last year. It brings a major jump in performance over UFS 4.0 and 4.1. Sequential speeds can reach up to 10.8Gbps, compared to 5.8Gbps on older versions. As a result, users can expect faster app launches and smoother file transfers.
At the same time, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is shaping up to be a major hardware upgrade. Reports suggest it could feature a near 1-inch 200MP main rear camera. In addition, the device is expected to run on the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, which should deliver strong performance gains.
While these details remain unconfirmed, they offer an early glimpse into Samsung’s next flagship strategy. More leaks are likely to follow in the coming months.
