Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are just a few months away from their launch. The device is rumored to come with many changes and upgrades over the Galaxy S8 but it looks like Samsung is going to keep the RAM same in both of the new devices.

New information about both of the new smartphones has emerged online and it confirms that the devices are under testing now. According to the new information, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will come with 4GB RAM only. The same amount of RAM was offered by the Galaxy S7 and S8 as well and it looks like that Samsung has decided to keep the RAM same this year as well. Although the leaked information shows 4GB RAM on the Galaxy S9+ only but as we know that Samsung only changes the screen size in both variants and rest of the specifications remain same, so we can say that the Galaxy S9 will also come with 4GB of RAM.

Most of the flagship phones are coming with 6GB RAM now and some of them are even coming with the 8GB and it leaves a question that why Samsung is sticking to the 4GB RAM? However, Samsung might put the major focus on software optimization and who knows that it still manages to perform better than most of the phones with 6GB RAM. Moreover, the information is an early one right now and Samsung might increase the RAM in the final release of the phone as it has already put 6GB of RAM in Note 8 and it does not make sense if they lower the RAM in their next flagship.

Galaxy S9 and S9+ have been given model numbers SM-G960 and SM-G965 respectively. The SM-G965 has been spotted on the Geekbench and it shows some information about the phone including the amount of RAM. The Geekbench shows an octa-core processor and it is expected to be the upcoming Exynos 9810. The Exynos 9810 will be manufactured on 10nm architecture and will be a direct competitor to the upcoming Snapdragon 840 or 845 (name is not confirmed yet). The new chipset also features a Cat. 18 6CA modem which will deliver up to 1.2Gbps speed and Samsung is getting ready for the 5G era with their new chipset.

This year, Samsung is planning to launch their flagship Galaxy device before time. Normally, the company announces the Galaxy S device in March and releases it in April, but this year, the company is planning to launch the Galaxy S9 in January. Moreover, Samsung is also planning to move the position of the fingerprint sensor as the current position has been criticized a lot. It is also reported that the S9 will have a 3D facial recognition sensor which will work like Apple Face ID.
