Samsung Internet

Samsung Internet browser, which comes pre-installed on Samsung phones, got a huge update today. The phone is now available for all Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop or above. The browser was under beta testing since August and it is now available through stable channel.

The browser has a version number 7.0 and is available in Google Play Store and Galaxy App Store to download. When you install the app first time, Google’s home page will open by default and default search engine is also set to Google. However, you can change these settings in the settings menu and choose one of the search engines from Google, Yahoo, Bing or DuckDuckGo.

The new version also comes with a dark mode which reverses the usual black text on a white background to white text on a black background. Dark mode makes it easier to use the browser in the night and does not stress your eyes. It also introduces a high contrast mode if you like that. The new browser also comes with a Chrome extension which allows you to access the bookmarks from your desktop Chrome browser and it syncs them to Samsung cloud. It also allows you to sync open tabs between the Samsung browsers installed across different devices.

Moreover, it also supports a lot of extensions including ad blockers which save you from unwanted and annoying ads.

You can download the browser now from Google Play Store.
