Apple’s recent flagship phones, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, have been toppled as the most preferred smartphones among users.

According to a report, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have been sold in greater quantities than Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in the three-month period ending in May. 16% of customers preferred a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge. While only 14.6% people purchase an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus during the aforementioned period.

That having said, Apple’s iPhone 6S/6S Plus were released in September last year. Whereas Samsung’s newest flagship phones came out in March this year with Virtual Reality offers to attract more customers.

Despite losing out to Samsung in terms of sales, Apple still dominates Samsung in the customer satisfaction area. 88% of Apple’s customers stay loyal. 14% of the people who buy an iPhone have used a Samsung device before.

On the other hand, 86% of Samsung customers don’t switch to another brand. And, only 5% of Samsung users made the switch from Apple.

The world of smartphone manufacturing is very dynamic. In June this year, Apple topped a LinkedIn report as the most attractive company. However in April, Apple’s annual revenue fell for the first time in 13 years. Samsung, on the other hand, leads with an annual revenue of 24.5%. Furthermore, Samsung has also introduced interesting gadgets like the Samsung Gear VR and their recent 2 TB portable SSD.
