The Sindh Colleges Department has decided to issue show-cause notices to absentee teachers working in government colleges across the province as part of efforts to improve staff attendance and accountability.
Colleges Secretary Nadeem Memon chaired a meeting to review the attendance situation among teaching and other staff at government colleges across Sindh.
During the meeting, officials reported that a significant number of employees in the education department were absent from duty at various locations across the province.
The meeting also reviewed the full activation of the biometric attendance system, which is being used to improve transparency and ensure that teaching and other staff regularly report for duty.
The system is expected to provide authorities with more accurate attendance records and help identify employees who remain absent without authorization.
The Colleges Secretary directed officials to take strict action against absent employees across provincial educational institutions in accordance with applicable service rules.
The issuance of show-cause notices will provide absentee employees an opportunity to explain their absence before further disciplinary action is considered. The move is aimed at strengthening accountability and ensuring that students receive regular teaching and academic services in government colleges across Sindh.
