Toyota has announced a significant price increase for its Corolla Cross HEV lineup in Pakistan following the recent rise in the General Sales Tax (GST) from 8.5 percent to 25 percent.
According to the revised price list, both variants of the Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) have become more expensive by more than Rs1.3 million.
The Corolla Cross 1.8 HEV now costs Rs9,849,000, up from Rs8,535,000, reflecting an increase of Rs1,314,000.
Meanwhile, the Corolla Cross 1.8 HEV X has seen its price rise from Rs8,935,000 to Rs10,299,000, an increase of Rs1,364,000.
Revised Toyota Corolla Cross HEV Prices
| Variant | Previous Price | New Price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corolla Cross 1.8 HEV | Rs8,535,000 | Rs9,849,000 | Rs1,314,000 |
| Corolla Cross 1.8 HEV X | Rs8,935,000 | Rs10,299,000 | Rs1,364,000 |
The company attributed the price hike to the increase in GST, which has raised the tax burden on hybrid vehicles. The revised prices are expected to impact prospective buyers, particularly those planning to purchase hybrid SUVs.
The latest revision follows recent taxation changes affecting Pakistan’s automobile sector, with automakers adjusting prices to reflect the higher sales tax applicable to hybrid electric vehicles.
