Wolfenstein 3 Reportedly in Development: Incoming Reveal Leaked
It has been over five years since the release of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and fans are hungry for a return to form. Fortunately, the wait might be over soon. According to multiple reports, Wolfenstein 3 is officially in the works at MachineGames. While the studio has not confirmed this directly, credible leaks suggest a reveal is on the horizon.
Wolfenstein 3 in Development: Reliable Sources Confirm
Speculation regarding a third entry in the rebooted franchise has circulated for years. Now, those rumours have weight. Jez Corden of Windows Central, known for his history of accurate leaks, reports that MachineGames is actively working on Wolfenstein 3. Furthermore, Kotaku claims their own sources have verified Corden’s statement.
Currently, MachineGames is juggling multiple titles following their work on Indiana Jones. However, the evidence for a new Nazi-shooting adventure is mounting. The studio previously teased a mysterious upcoming game, and many signs now point to this being the next Wolfenstein.
The Unfinished Trilogy
The existence of a third game aligns with the developer’s original vision. In a documentary regarding the series, Studio Head Jerk Gustafsson stated that MachineGames always envisioned Wolfenstein as a trilogy.

Technically, the studio has released four games. However, The Old Blood serves as a prequel, and Youngblood is a spin-off. Only The New Order and The New Colossus (branded as Wolfenstein 2) fit the main narrative. Consequently, the trilogy remains unfinished. Gustafsson’s comments make the recent leaks regarding a third mainline instalment highly believable.
Potential Reveal Dates & Amazon Synergy
The timing for a reveal is strategic. Reports indicate the game’s release may coincide with the upcoming Wolfenstein TV show from Amazon. While the show lacks a premiere date, a simultaneous game announcement would capitalise on the cross-media hype, similar to the success of Amazon’s Fallout series.
Moreover, Bethesda’s 40th anniversary arrives in June 2026. This milestone offers a perfect opportunity for a major announcement. MachineGames has previously released titles every one to two years. After the long gap following Youngblood, the franchise needs a spark to regain its momentum. Between the anniversary and the TV series, the stage is set for Wolfenstein 3 to finally break cover.
