Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service will introduce a dedicated Pink Bus service for women, alongside the arrival of 52 new buses that will expand the total fleet to 296, under directives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi to improve public transport facilities for citizens.
Under the Pink Bus initiative, designated buses will be reserved exclusively for female passengers, offering a safer and more comfortable travel environment, particularly during peak hours.
According to officials, the first batch of 25 new buses is expected to arrive in Pakistan by early July, with the remaining vehicles to follow in subsequent shipments.
These buses will operate on the main corridor and feeder routes of the BRT, increasing service capacity, reducing waiting times, and helping meet rising commuter demand.
Trans Peshawar is also working on introducing new routes to extend safe, reliable, and quality public transport services to a wider section of the population.
According to Trans Peshawar, the fleet expansion reflects the continued commitment of the organisation to providing quality public transport for Peshawar’s residents and meeting their growing commuting needs.
This effort is being carried out under the guidance of its Board of Directors, Transport Secretary Muhammad Zubair, and KPUMA Managing Director Iftikhar Khan.
