The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is doing a marvelous with its gaming-focused smartphone brand, Black Shark. After the sub-brand’s success with its gaming beast Black Shark 2 earlier this year, Xiaomi has just teased the rear design of the upcoming pro variant of the phone — Black Shark 2 Pro, which is all set to launch on 30th of July, as affirmed by GSMArena.

In a recent post on Chinese social media Weibo, Xiaomi has revealed the back design of the Black Shark 2 Pro which is quite similar to the older models of the brand. Rumors suggest that the illuminated green strips on the back design of phone’s poster might be new customizable LED bars moved from the edges of the Black Shark 2. And by looking at the image posted by the company, we are doubtful about whether Black Shark 2 Pro would retain the iconic RBG “S” logo on the rear or not.

For the uninitiated, the Black Shark smartphones are part of Xiaomi’s efforts to provide cost-effective gaming smartphones to all gaming addicts around the world. I remember that back in 2018 when Xiaomi teased its first gamer-centric and relatively cheaper smartphone Black Shark, it got a great response from the community due to its “liquid cooling” system and 48MP camera.

And now, as the company is gearing up to launch the third smartphone of the series it will likely retain characteristics of the previously launched phone in a competitive price point along with some upgrades. However, what exactly those upgrades would be, still remains to be seen.

Well, before talking about the rumors and leaks, we have cited regarding the smartphone, let’s not ignore the fact that Black Shark 2 will be a power-house for gaming just like its older versions. The phone is expected to pack heavy-weight specs; such as refreshed Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset coupled with 12GB of RAM have become a must for gaming smartphones.

According to reports, the Black Shark 2 Pro has scored 11,304 in the multi-score test on GeekBench site. This is probably due to the updated processor from Qualcomm that promises a 4.2% improvement in CPU and 15% improvement in GPU performance.

Last but not least, as the 5G technology will soon make its debut on a handful of carriers across the globe, so it will be a must for gaming phones. We are expecting Xiaomi to make a variant of Black Shark that features 5G along with other high-end specs.
