Mobile device cloning or duplication has become a concerning issue for many mobile phone users. If you have received a message indicating that your mobile device has been cloned or duplicated, there is no need to panic. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) provides a simple and effective process to verify your device’s IMEI number and restore your cellular services. This guide outlines the procedure you should follow to resolve the issue.
Step-by-Step Process for IMEI Verification and Service Restoration
Download the PTA CMS Mobile Application
The first step is to download the PTA CMS mobile app from the Google Play Store.
Sign Up for CMS
After downloading the app, you will need to sign up for the CMS service via the PTA website. To do so, you will be required to provide personal information, including:

- Email address
- National Identity Card (CNIC) number
- Nobile phone number
Submit a New Complaint
After completing your successful registration, move to the opened app, where you should choose ‘New Complaint’ from the app menu. Among the available options in the app you should select the ‘DIRBS-related complaint’ category to report registration or cloning problems with your devices.
Select the Nature of the Complaint
In this step, select the appropriate nature of the complaint. In the case of device cloning or duplication, choose the relevant option to proceed.
Enter IMEI and Device Details
You will now be required to input specific details regarding your mobile device, including:

- Your IMEI number: To find your IMEI number, dial *#06# on your phone.
- Phone brand and model: Provide the brand and model of your device.
- Serial number and device colour: Enter the serial number and the color of the phone.
- SIM number and network carrier: Input the number associated with your SIM card and select your network carrier.
Upload Supporting Documents
For verification purposes, you will need to upload several documents. These include:

- A clear image of the serial number of your device
- A screenshot of your device’s screen displaying the IMEI number
- A picture of the device’s box
Submit the Complaint
After ensuring that all information is accurate and all necessary documents are uploaded, click Submit Complaint. The PTA will receive your submission and begin processing your request for IMEI verification and service restoration.
Await Confirmation from PTA
Once your complaint is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from the PTA regarding the status of your request. The PTA will inform you of the outcome and any necessary actions to resolve the issue.
In cases of cloning or duplication, verifying your IMEI helps prevent unauthorized access and the potential blocking of your device. This process ensures that your mobile services continue without interruption and safeguards your device from fraud or misuse.
