Market analysts expect Apple to sharply increase production of the iPhone 17 series in 2025. The investment bank predicts orders will climb from 84–86 million units to the low 90 million.
Production growth will center on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Demand for the iPhone Air has lagged behind projections, but Apple seems to have underestimated demand for the higher-end models.
Analysts believe most buyers are upgrading from much older iPhones. They also expect that number to rise next year. This shift could strengthen momentum for the iPhone 18 series and Apple’s first foldable phone, which is expected in late 2026.
Analysts now forecast Apple will sell 243 million iPhones next year. However, the bank says sales could reach 270 million if the foldable iPhone and Apple Intelligence features drive stronger adoption.
