Epic Games brought meaningful content to Fortnite for April Fools’ Day 2026. However, the developer limited the chaotic fun to a strict 24-hour window. The massive content drop will conclude promptly today, April 2, at 5:30 AM EST / 2:30 PM PKT.
Fortnite activated a classic big head mode for all human-shaped skins. Developers initially struggled to scale the humanoid banana Peely’s elongated head. Consequently, Peely skins received an enlarged Cuddle Team Leader mask instead.
Furthermore, players could build moving human towers. Gamers initiated this by using a limited-time emote. A bottom player grabbed the hand of the first person for a boost. After that, subsequent players leaped straight to the top of the stack.

The update introduced highly unique gameplay mechanics. Fortnite added finger guns as a limited-time weapon. Players are literally gesturing at foes with their hands to deal actual damage.
Additionally, standard llamas transformed into rideable mounts. Epic Games also removed fall damage completely. Instead of taking damage, falling players simply heard a cartoonish “splat” audio cue upon hitting the ground.
Fortnite players accessed these April Fools’ features across the main Battle Royale, Reload, and Blitz Royale modes. The entire 24-hour event will come to a hard stop at 5:30 AM EST / 2:30 PM PKT on April 2. Epic Games might eventually add these elements to Fortnite Creative. Until then, the 2026 festivities remain a brief, one-and-done experience.
