Foreign delegations are arriving in the federal capital today for the US-Iran talks. Consequently, authorities have partially suspended the Metro Bus service in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Furthermore, officials have implemented a special traffic plan to manage the commute.
The district administration has issued strict operational instructions for public transit. Currently, the Metro Bus service will operate exclusively between the Saddar Station and PIMS. Meanwhile, authorities have completely closed the route stretching from PIMS to the Pak Secretariat.
Traffic police have established new diversion routes for motorists. Therefore, travelers heading from GT Road Peshawar to Rawalpindi should use the Taxila Motorway, Chakri-Chak Beli Road, or Rawat. Similarly, commuters driving from Lahore to Peshawar must take Rawat, Chak Beli Road, or the Taxila Motorway.
Locally, police direct motorists traveling from Margalla Road to Rawalpindi toward Ninth Avenue. Conversely, commuters moving from Rawalpindi to Islamabad must access Ninth Avenue via Murree Road. Moreover, officials will redirect traffic moving from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point straight to Ninth Avenue. Additionally, authorities have entirely closed the expressway from Zero Point to Coral Chowk in both directions.
Finally, authorities have imposed a strict restriction on large transport. They have banned all heavy vehicles from entering Islamabad today and tomorrow.
