Honor has expanded its Play 80 lineup with a new model called the Play 80 Plus. It joins the Play 80 and Play 80 Pro, which launched earlier in China this year. The new device focuses on a larger battery and a mid-range Snapdragon chip.
The Honor Play 80 Plus features a 6.61-inch TFT LCD. It offers HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen reaches up to 1,010 nits peak brightness. A 5MP front camera sits inside a punch-hole cutout on the display. On the back, the phone carries a single 13MP camera. It uses an f/1.8 aperture and supports video recording up to 1080p. The design stays simple with a clean rear layout.
Power comes from a large 7,500mAh battery. Honor says the phone can deliver up to 20 hours of video playback. The battery is also claimed to retain up to 80% health after six years of use. This long-life claim targets heavy users who keep devices for years.
Charging is handled through 45W wired fast charging. Reverse charging is also supported, allowing the phone to power other devices when needed. As a result, it works as a backup power source in some situations.
The device runs MagicOS 10.0 based on Android 16. Honor has added its AI suite for system features and smart tools. A physical AI shortcut key is included as well. It can be used to launch the AI assistant and open selected apps quickly. In terms of durability, the phone carries an IP64 rating. This provides basic protection against dust and water splashes.
The Honor Play 80 Plus is available in Aquamarine, Black, and Gold color options. It is currently launched in China. Pricing starts at CNY 1,699 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. The higher 8GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 2,099.
