Bangladesh-based online travel platform GoZayaan announced it will wind down operations in Pakistan as the company refocuses its strategy on markets with stronger long-term growth potential. The Singapore-registered travel technology firm, which entered Pakistan through its 2022 acquisition of FindMyAdventure for $3.5 million, cited strategic realignment as the primary reason behind the withdrawal decision.
The company confirmed that all active bookings will be honored to ensure customers’ travel plans proceed without disruption, while support teams remain available through the help@gozayaan.com email address to handle queries and payment-related assistance. GoZayaan leadership described the exit as a strategic transition rather than a complete cessation, emphasizing that the move allows the company to explore new horizons and invest more effectively in future travel initiatives.
GoZayaan entered the Pakistani market in February 2022 through the FindMyAdventure acquisition, positioning the deal as a milestone for South Asian travel technology. Founder and CEO Ridwan Hafiz stated at the time that Bangladesh possessed potential to create regional or global companies, noting that Pakistan and Bangladesh together constitute approximately 5% of the world’s total population. The platform raised $8.1 million across four funding rounds from 14 investors, including Wavemaker Partners, Iterative, and former Airbnb executives, recording $5.2 million in annual revenue for 2026.
The withdrawal comes amid challenging regional conditions including Pakistan’s extended airspace closure for Indian carriers and broader geopolitical tensions affecting travel patterns across South Asia. GoZayaan currently maintains operations in Bangladesh, Singapore, and Malaysia, where it expanded services beyond travel booking to include remittance solutions for the Bangladeshi diaspora. The company emphasized its commitment to supporting affected team members through a respectful transition process.
