Huawei may soon add another model to its Nova 16 smartphone lineup. A new rumor points to the possible launch of the Huawei Nova 16 SE. The company last used the SE name for a Nova smartphone in 2024. That model arrived as part of the Nova 12 series.
According to the source, the upcoming Nova 16 SE could take design cues from Honor’s Power2 smartphone. The leaked details suggest that the phone will feature a flat LTPS OLED display. The screen is also expected to offer a 1.5K resolution.
On the back, the Nova 16 SE could come with a gradient finish. This design would give the phone a more distinctive look. Huawei may use its Kirin 8020 chipset to power the device. The phone is also rumored to feature a 50MP primary rear camera.
The camera system could also include Huawei’s Red Maple imaging technology. This technology is expected to improve the phone’s photography capabilities.
One of the biggest highlights could be the battery. The Nova 16 SE is reportedly set to pack an 8,500mAh battery. If the rumor is accurate, that capacity would make the phone a strong option for users who want longer battery life.
Meanwhile, Huawei’s current Nova 16 lineup in China includes the Nova 16, Nova 16 Pro, Nova 16 Ultra, and Nova 16z. The company has not confirmed the Nova 16 SE yet. Therefore, its specifications and launch plans should be treated as rumors for now.
