The Punjab government has decided to gradually shift all public services to the digital platform “Maryam Ki Dastak” as part of its efforts to expand digital governance across the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday assigned the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) the task of digitally transferring all government services to the platform.
Maryam Nawaz visited the PITB headquarters, where Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf briefed her on various digital projects and initiatives being undertaken across Punjab.
During the briefing, officials said the government plans to establish a Tech Fund for startups in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi under the Accelerate Punjab initiative.
Punjab Commerce Hubs are also planned for Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Multan to support commercial and business activities.
Officials informed the chief minister that the CM Internship Programme has received 19,000 applications so far.
Of these, 585 internships have been completed, while another 1,692 are currently underway.
The government is also awarding 60,000 scholarships under Phases I and II of the programme.
The briefing also covered the province’s e-auction system. Officials said 612,953 auctions have been conducted so far, generating approximately Rs. 74 billion in revenue.
The Punjab government is also taking measures to improve transparency in government contracts.
The planned expansion of Maryam Ki Dastak is expected to bring more government services online, reducing the need for citizens to physically visit government offices and strengthening digital access to public services across Punjab.
