Tariq Malik, the former chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has been named among the world’s 50 most important digital leaders for his contribution to the development of digital public infrastructure.
The recognition was announced in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly sessions, where the list of global leaders in digital public infrastructure was unveiled.
A specialist in digital identity and digital systems, Malik has worked internationally to promote secure, reliable and public-interest digital platforms. His inclusion places him among a select group of figures shaping how governments and institutions build and deploy such systems.
Malik led NADRA, Pakistan’s national identity authority, before stepping down from the post. His work in the field has drawn global attention to Pakistan’s experience in building digital identity systems.
