Apple’s next entry-level iPad could arrive in spring 2027, bringing a significant hardware upgrade. A new report based on details found in Apple’s code has revealed the tablet’s key specifications.
The upcoming iPad is expected to feature Apple’s A19 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM. This would be a notable upgrade over the current model, which runs on the A16 chip and has 6GB of RAM. The additional memory and faster processor are also expected to bring Apple Intelligence support to the entry-level iPad for the first time.
Moreover, the new tablet is expected to feature Apple’s C1X modem, which supports sub-6GHz 5G networks. It will also include the N1 networking chip, bringing support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
Apple launched the current entry-level iPad in March 2025. Its price was raised to $449 in June, making a price increase for the next model possible. Given the expected hardware upgrades, the new iPad could start at $499, although Apple has yet to confirm its pricing.
