The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is set to introduce an e-immigration app that will allow passengers to complete pre-travel checks digitally, following directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Through the app, passengers will be able to view the status of their travel documents, while the FIA will scrutinise all submitted documents in advance. Travellers will also be able to check their eligibility to travel. If any query arises, the app will notify the passenger directly.
Eligible travellers will receive a QR code. When a passenger enters the airport, their complete data will already be available in the immigration system, allowing clearance and other procedures to be completed smoothly.
The app is also intended to provide the FIA with first-hand information on passengers and to support risk profiling.
Work on the app is in its final stages. Its introduction will digitise the immigration process in Pakistan. Officials said the app will facilitate passengers and help ensure the immigration process is completed without delays.
