Honor’s rumored wide foldable phone may not arrive this year after all. A new leak now points to a January launch. The company has reportedly been working on a wide foldable for some time. Earlier reports suggested that Honor could launch the device by the end of this year.
However, a well-known Weibo leaker claims the launch has been pushed back. According to the latest rumor, Honor will introduce the wide foldable in January instead. The phone could also arrive with a large range of accessories. The leaker described its accessory ecosystem as “very rich.”
That suggests Honor may have bigger plans for the device. The company could be treating it as a key product rather than a one-off experiment. Earlier reports have also revealed several possible specifications. A July rumor claimed the phone could use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.
The device is also expected to feature a 7.6-inch main folding display. It could include a 5.5-inch cover screen for everyday use. On the camera side, the rumored setup includes a 200MP main camera. A periscope telephoto camera is also expected to be part of the system.
Powering the phone could be a battery with more than 7,000 mAh capacity. If these details are accurate, Honor’s foldable could compete with some of the biggest devices in the segment. For now, Honor has not confirmed the phone or its launch date. More details are expected to emerge as the rumored January launch gets closer.
