The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the results of Class 12 (HSSC-II) annual examinations on Wednesday, with Ammara Azhar of Army Public School and Colleges (Girls), Rawalpindi, topping the Pre-Medical Group by securing 1,079 marks.
The results were declared at a ceremony held at the FBISE building in Islamabad, where Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui pressed the enter key on a laptop to open the results.
FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik briefed attendees on the outcome.
Muhammad Jahanzaib of Punjab College of Science, Blue Area, Islamabad, secured second position in the Pre-Medical Group with 1,078 marks, trailing the topper by a single mark. Syeda Iman Fatima of Army Public School and College, Gujranwala Cantonment, claimed third position with 1,076 marks.
The overall pass percentage for HSSC-II stood at 85.95 percent, with 87,364 of the 104,838 registered students clearing the exam. Girls dominated the results across all groups this year, securing 11 of the 15 top positions announced.
Dr Siddiqui congratulated the successful students and described the strong performance of girls as a positive sign for the country.
He said the government remained focused on upgrading education standards to help Pakistani students compete globally, stressing that reforms and modernisation were essential for national progress.
