Islamabad court extended physical remand of foreign nationals accused of defrauding millions of rupees through Gold Box and GLBX mobile application in major online investment fraud case. Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah heard the case after three-day physical remand of accused completed and investigators presented suspects before court.
National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) requested 27 additional days of physical remand for the accused to continue investigation. The court granted seven-day extended physical remand allowing investigators to pursue leads in the multi-million rupee fraud case. Authorities presented three foreign male suspects and one female suspect before the court following completion of initial three-day remand period.
The accused allegedly used Gold Box platform and GLBX mobile application to defraud Pakistani investors of crores of rupees through online investment scheme. NCCIA investigators stated they need additional time to trace financial transactions, recover defrauded amounts, and identify additional victims across Pakistan. The case represents one of the largest online investment fraud investigations currently underway in Islamabad.
Gold Box and GLBX app allegedly promised high returns on investment attracting thousands of Pakistani investors through digital platform. Investigators are examining digital evidence including transaction records, bank statements, and communication logs to establish complete fraud network. The foreign nationals entered Pakistan on valid visas but authorities suspect they operated sophisticated investment fraud scheme targeting Pakistani citizens.
NCCIA filed case after multiple complaints from defrauded investors who lost substantial amounts through the platform. Authorities are working to identify all perpetrators involved in the fraud scheme and recover defrauded amounts for victims. The investigation continues as authorities examine international connections and potential money laundering activities. Court will review case progress after seven-day remand period concludes with accused to be presented again for further proceedings.
