Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices are expected to decline by as much as Rs. 50 per kilogram from July due to improved domestic supplies, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Sources said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is likely to reduce the official LPG price from the current Rs. 309 per kilogram to around Rs. 259 per kilogram.
The anticipated price cut comes as LPG availability has improved across the country, creating room for a significant reduction in the regulator’s notified price.
However, consumers may not immediately benefit from the lower official rates, as LPG is currently being sold above OGRA’s notified price in several markets.
In Lahore and many other parts of Pakistan, retailers continue to charge prices well above the official benchmark, limiting the impact of any reduction announced by the regulator.
If approved, the revised LPG price is expected to take effect from July, offering potential relief to households and commercial consumers who rely on the fuel for cooking and heating.
