The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced tablet-based service counters at its Mega Centres in Karachi to streamline the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) application process and reduce waiting times for citizens.
The new Tablet Counters are designed to improve service efficiency by enabling visitors to complete various stages of the registration process more quickly, helping ease congestion at some of NADRA’s busiest service centres.
According to the authority, the initiative is aimed at minimizing long queues and providing a faster, more convenient experience for applicants seeking CNIC-related services.
Citizens visiting the Mega Centres have welcomed the move, saying the tablet-based system has significantly reduced processing times and made the overall registration process smoother compared to the previous manual workflow.
The introduction of Tablet Counters is part of NADRA’s broader efforts to modernize public service delivery through digital solutions and improve the quality of services offered at high-traffic registration centres.
The authority is expected to expand similar technology-driven initiatives in the future as part of its ongoing efforts to make identity registration services more efficient, accessible and citizen-friendly across the country.
